Privacy Policy
What NoiseScribe collects, why, and what it never keeps.
Last updated 31 July 2026.
1. Who this covers
This policy explains what NoiseScribe (noisescribe.com) does with your information. It applies when you visit the site, use the demo, or sign in and use the console.
2. What we collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive and store three things from your Google profile: your name, your email address, and your profile picture. We use them only to identify your account and show who is signed in.
We do not ask for a password — sign-in is handled by Google — and nothing is posted to your Google account on your behalf.
Browsing the public pages and the demo requires no account and collects no personal information beyond the ordinary request logs your browser and our server exchange to serve a page.
3. Your audio and transcripts
When you record, your microphone audio is streamed through our server to OpenAI’s speech-to-text service, which converts it to text. The audio is used to produce your transcript and is not stored on our servers after the session ends — it is relayed, not recorded.
Your transcript is yours. OpenAI processes the audio as our transcription provider; their handling of it is governed by their own terms and data policies.
If you use the session history in the console, transcripts are saved in your own browser’s local storage, on your device — they never reach our servers. Deleting a session there, or clearing your browser data, removes them completely.
4. Who else processes your data
Two providers process data as part of running NoiseScribe:
- Google — sign-in, which gives us the three profile fields above
- OpenAI — speech-to-text, which processes your audio while you record
We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the providers needed to run the service.
5. Cookies
We use two cookies, both strictly necessary and neither used for tracking: a short-lived cookie during the sign-in round trip, and a session cookie that keeps you signed in. There are no advertising or third-party analytics cookies.
6. How long we keep things
Audio is not kept after a session ends. Your account record — the three Google fields — is kept while your account exists, so that signing in again returns you to the same account. Ask us to delete it and we will remove it.
7. Your choices
You can sign out at any time from the header. To see what we hold about you, or to have your account and its data deleted, email info@noisescribe.com or use the form at noisescribe.com/contact, and we will action it.
8. Changes
NoiseScribe is in beta and this policy may change as the service grows. If we make a material change we will update the date below.
9. Contact
