Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These terms cover your use of NoiseScribe at noisescribe.com. By signing in or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

2. What NoiseScribe is

NoiseScribe turns speech into text in real time in your browser, with speaker labels. Transcription is performed by OpenAI’s speech-to-text models, which process your audio to produce the transcript.

The service is in beta. It may change, break, lose features, or be unavailable without notice, and it is provided for you to try rather than to depend on for anything critical.

3. Your account

You sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and the account is for one person — do not share your sign-in.

We store only your name, email address and profile picture from Google, to identify your account. Nothing is posted to your Google account on your behalf.

4. Your audio and your transcripts

Audio is streamed through the service to the transcription provider while you record and is not stored on our servers after a session ends. The transcript belongs to you.

Recording other people may require their consent depending on where you and they are. You are responsible for having any consent the law requires before you record, and for how you use the transcripts you produce.

5. Acceptable use

Use NoiseScribe lawfully. In particular, do not:

• record people without a consent the law requires
• transcribe content you have no right to record or process
• attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the service
• resell or redistribute the service as your own

6. Plans and payment

Pricing is described on the pricing section of the site. During the beta the free tier is available and paid plans are not yet being charged; if and when billing begins, you will be told before any charge is made.

Usage allowances shown on a plan are limits on how much audio you can transcribe in a period.

7. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or stop any part of the service at any time during the beta, and we may update these terms. If we make a material change we will update the date below. Continuing to use NoiseScribe after a change means you accept the updated terms.

8. No warranty

NoiseScribe is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Automatic transcription is not perfect and can produce errors; do not rely on a transcript being accurate without checking it, especially for anything important.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, NoiseScribe and its operator are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data, arising from your use of the service.

10. Termination

You can stop using NoiseScribe at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or misuse the service.
